Rhyme and Reason: December 26, 2012

Escalators know that there are two kinds
of humans on this planet.
The ones who are cowards
and the ones who are brave.

The brave ones always take the Escalator.

The scaredy-cats take the Elevator, not daring
to put their feet on the running treads,
they dread the fact that Escalators never stop,
except at night, when the malls are closed,
and even then they run, endlessly,
in the nightmares of the Elevator-people.

Escalators sneer at the Elevator-people.
